Be aware that sandy soil will drain faster than most soils and the frequency of watering will need to increase. To help grow your plants:
- Add good compost or mixed soil to the ground either before landscaping or when planting
- Add compost when planting
- Mulch the ground to keep the moisture on the surface
- Fertilize often, sand lacks most nutrients
